They lost yesterday to their division rival Baltimore Orioles after Mariano blew his second save of the season after giving up a home run to Adam Jones. Hughes enters with a record of 4-7, 4.55 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, which is an improvement from his earlier numbers. In his last start against the Twins he tossed seven innings giving up six hits and two earned runs while striking out three. In his last home start against the Rangers he tossed eight innings giving up five hits and two earned runs.
