Kentucky (17-6) takes on #6 Florida (19-3) Tuesday night at 7:00ET on ESPN. College basketball odds are listed at Bovada sportsbook.
Kentucky has won five games in a row to improve to 8-2 in SEC action. In addition, they are now 17-6 SU and 8-12 ATS for the year. They are 4-3 on the road this season, including wins over Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Over their last ten games, they are 8-2 SU, but only 3-7 ATS. Although the Wildcats are improving, they are 0-3 against Top 25 teams this season and have a serious test playing in Gainesville tonight. Keep an eye out for the ‘Cats however because it seems as though they are transforming into a legit threat and a lock NCAA Tournament team which was not the case just a few weeks ago.
Florida rebounded from a road loss to Arkansas with a big win over Mississippi State. For the year, Florida is 19-3 SU and 12-7 ATS. While they have been dominant of late, winning 9 of their last 10, then haven’t fared well against the spread of late. They have failed to cover in three straight, but still are 7-3 against the spread in their last ten games. Many expect Florida to be a legit threat come NCAA Tournament time due in large part to a backcourt led by experienced players Mike Rosario and Kenny Boynton. It has been on defense however where the Gators have shown the most improvement from a year ago allowing only 52.7 points per game in some dominating wins as we mentioned before.
As with most college games this season we expect the game to come down to defense. Both of these teams are in the top echelon of defense in the country and this being a rivalry game, and with Kentucky on the rise we expect this to be a close one even though Florida is probably still the better team at this time.
Florida is a 10 point favorite. Kentucky seems to be putting it together at the right time. Take Kentucky +10 with sportsbook betting.
