A brand new NBA season has begun and scheduled for Tuesday October 29th are three big games. We are selection from the late night TV game as it’s the battle of LA as the LA Clippers will be the road squad facing the LA Lakers on their home court. The Clippers and Lakers will get things started from Staples Center at 10:40PM Eastern Time and TNT TV will provide the coast to coast broadcast television. Check out NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The current betting odds from the Battle of LA has the road side LA Clippers the -9 point favorites with the total lined at 199 ½ points. The money line odds on the Clippers are -480 odds with the Lakers returning +380 odds on the money line.
Opening night in the NBA will feature the debut of Doc Rivers as head coach of the Clippers. He has a World Title during his tenure as head coach of the Boston Celtics and leaves Boston as the team is rebuilding and lands on a prebuilt team. Rivers is no stranger to the Clippers as has spent time during his playing days with the organization in the early 1990’s. In the 2012-13 season the Lakers and Clippers went head to head four times with the Clippers winning all four games. There is an over streak trend in this series as the teams have played over the total in nine straight but this will be the end of that trend tonight. Kobe Bryant will not be playing for the Lakers tonight and with Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace leaving in free agency the team seems to be in a rebuild mode with veterans Steve Nash and Pau Gasol still around. Don’t be surprised is Gasol or Nash are moved by the All Star break as the team will need to look to the draft. Doc Rivers is a defensive minded coach and expect in Game 1 of the season for the Clippers to follow throw with this style that Rivers brings. Defense wins championships and it was lacking in the final three playoffs games for the Clippers as they give up well over 100 points to Memphis in each of the three losses to end their season.
With our NBA Pro Basketball pick for Tuesday we will play on the LA Clippers and LA Lakers to play under the total of 199 ½ points but prior to wagering check out sportsbook reviews.
