Liberty has been a Cinderella team to just make it to the Big Dance. The Flames started their season at 0-8 and only finished the regular season at 11-20 and just 6-10 in the Big South Conference. Obviously not looking like a major player in their own conference tournament, the Flames scorched through their tournament by winning four games in a row. Liberty had to take out the top 2 teams in the north division and then the top team in the south division to take the conference tournament championship and earn themselves their third NCAA bid in school history.
North Carolina A&T can be looked at in almost the same light. A&T at least finished with an above .500 record in conference play and overall this season. However, the Aggies finished just seventh in the MEAC. The MEAC tournament was completely dysfunctional as all of the top four teams from the regular season were ousted before the semi-finals. NC A&T has made their 10th tournament appearance but are still looking for the first-ever win in school history. This will probably be their best shot at a victory because it is virtually a play-in game. The Aggies haven’t made the tournament since 1995.
Liberty is 5-3 against the spread this year and 3-0 on neutral floors. NC A&T have yet to lose ATS with a 7-0 record.
These games are so tough to predict because of these teams’ unpredictability. I am going with the super-hot team in Liberty who came from nowhere to make a run for the tournament. Never doubt determination and destiny so take Liberty with sportsbook betting.
