The Angels look to hit their stride as the travel to Oakland for the second game of the series with the Athletics. Check out MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
Los Angeles (9-15 entering Monday) have lost four of their five games entering the series opener against the Athletics. Three of those losses came against the Seattle Mariners in a four game series and the other was when they lost two out of three to the Texas Rangers. The Angels may have the most stacked lineup in the majors with Mike Trout, Mark Trumbo, Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton but cannot transfer that into wins. Peter Bourjos, of all people, is leading the Angels in batting average with a stellar .329. Trumbo, with all that power, leads the Angels in home runs with just three homers.
The Athletics (14-12 entering Monday) have a much better record but boy are they entering this series struggling mightily. Oakland has lost eight of their last 10 games after starting the season 12-4. Earlier this season, the A’s swept the Angels in a three game series. Jed Lowrie is leading the A’s with an average of .344.
LA is 12-12 against the spread while the A’s are 14-12 ATS, just like their record.
Richards will start for the Angels and I believe that will be the difference. Oakland has Jarrod Parker starting and Parker is 0-4 this season in five starts. He did not even make four innings when he pitched against LA earlier this year so to take LA Click Here.
