Marquette (26-8) has somehow kept this magical season alive and will get to play Syracuse in their regional final with a chance to reach a Final Four. Marquette was able to share a piece of the Big East regular season title before getting a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament. They escaped Davidson thanks to Vander Blue’s last second heroics. After Davidson, in the Round of 32, Marquette was able to hold off Butler in the waning moments and it almost looked like the Golden Eagles were trying to give the game away. They took a week off and then controlled Miami in the Sweet 16 with an outstanding shooting performance.
Syracuse (29-9) and Jim Boeheim just win games when it comes time where the cream rises to the top. The Orange made a run in the Big East Tournament before being beat by Louisville in the Final. Syracuse crushed Montana in the Round of 64, survived Cal and then took down almighty Indiana behind a superb outing from Michael Carter-Williams. In one meeting this season, the Orange were beat by Marquette.
Marquette is 15-15 against the spread this season and 2-1 in the tournament. The ‘Cuse is 19-15 ATS and 2-1 in the NCAA Tournament.
