Memphis looks to continue their surge for a high seed in the West when they travel to Utah to play the Jazz. Get NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Memphis Grizzlies (44-20) have won 14 of their last 16 games but are coming off a loss in Denver against the Nuggets. Memphis have won both meetings with the Jazz this season behind the strong play from Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol inside. With their win earlier this week against the LA Clippers, Memphis has taken third place from those Clippers in the very difficult Western Conference. This will now be Memphis’ fourth straight game playing away from home.
The Jazz (33-32) are sitting in the ninth position in the West just one game out of the last spot for the playoffs behind the Lakers. Utah is in the midst of a skid that needs to be changed immediately if they want any participation in the playoffs this season. They have lost eight of their last 10 games with the only wins coming against the lowly Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Bobcats. The Jazz did have two full days off in preparation for the Grizzlies and look to get off the slide and back into a possible playoff position.
Against the spread the Grizz are 38-24-1 and the Jazz are 31-33-1 ATS. In home games, Utah is 19-12 but just 15-16 after victories. Memphis is a remarkable 20-10 on the road and 12-6-1 after losing their previous game.
I am picking against Memphis because of this terrible spot. Playing at Utah on a back to back after Denver means two games in a row at high altitude. Take the rested Jazz against the tired Grizzlies at www.sportsbookroom.com.
