Seattle has been one of the better teams in the American League over the past few weeks and while it won’t make them contenders for a playoff spot it is still good to see. They did however take one on the chin yesterday and lost to the Twins score of 10-0. Even with that blowout loss they have still won 8 of 12 games. The difference for the Mariners in the stretch is they ran off a streak of 10 straight quality starts at one point. They will start Blake Beavan tonight however who has struggled in three of his last four outings. In those outings he has let up four runs in each start.
The Twins picked up a lopsided win on Wednesday over the Mariners due to an explosive offense of performance. They combined that with a shutdown pitching performance en route to the win. Tonight Minnesota will start Brian Duensing. The left-hander definitely makes us nervous because when he’s bad he is downright awful as evident by his last appearance where he let up nine runs in just two innings of work.
Beavan has been struggling a lot lately and Duensing left a lot to be desired in his last outing as well. The line is a little bit strange in that the Twins are favored, but we are going to go with them has a slight moneyline favorite in this game at best online sportsbooks.
