The current betting odds from Monday Night Football has the home side New York Giants favored by -3 ½ points with an over under line set at 3 ½ points. Those who bet on the Giants on the money line will lay -185 odds with the return on the Minnesota Vikings at +160 odds.
The Giants have struggled all season long as the team is winless entering week eight. They team has given up 27 points or greater to all six opponents and it is dangerous to lay points with a team allowing this many points. New York cannot run the football or stop anybody on the defensive side of the football. Giants quarterback Eli Manning has been blessed with a running game and a great defense who pressures quarterbacks but not this season. Eli Manning has to carry this football team with deficiencies on both sides of the football. He has to be Tony Romo and try and win with bad defensive play and no help from his run game. We are seeing the real Eli Manning and it has not been very pretty. On the year Manning is completing 53% of his throws with nine touchdowns and fifteen picks. He has thrown three interceptions in each of his past three games. Eli has three interception or more in four of his six games in 2013. The team is 31st and last running the football and is ranked 30th in the league in scoring offense as they put up 17 points per game on the season. On defense the Giants allow nearly 35 points a game and is last in the NFL in scoring defense. Teams have had success running the football and the Vikings have one of the best in their backfield in Adrian Peterson who likes to shine in the spotlight. Minnesota has a win this season against Pittsburgh. Josh Freeman is under center for the Vikings and an upgrade over Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder.
With our NFL pro football pick for Monday Night Football we will play on the Minnesota Vikings +3 ½ points at the sports books.
