The Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals will meet for their third and final game of their set in Miami. All odds for all games can be found at Just Bet sportsbook.
The Marlins are red hot and that streak continued on Tuesday as they beat the Nats to crawl within a half game of their division lead. Hanley Ramirez led the offense with a big home run and Anibal Sanchez earned his third win of the season on the mound. Josh Johnson who is looking like he may be rounding into form gets the start tonight for Miami. His numbers are average, but we are all aware of how good he is when he is healthy and on his game.
The Nationals could fall right out of first place with another loss today to the Marlins. The Nats received a good outing from Edwin Jackson yesterday, but could not muster enough offense to earn him a win. Chien Ming-Wang will take the hill for the Nats today and is making just his second appearance of the season. This will be his first start of the season as well.
Miami is 20-8 in their last 28 games overall, 5-9 in their last 14 games against the N.L. East, and 24-9 in Johnson’s last 33 starts as a favorite. Washington is 5-2 in their last seven road games against a team with a winning record, 20-7 in their last 27 games against the N.L. East, and 5-2 in Wang’s last seven starts as an underdog. Miami is 10-4 in Johnson’s last 14 starts against the Nationals.
Without knowing what Wang has in the tank and likely how Johnson has looked lately, we like the Marlins as a moneyline play in this one at best sports books.
