The Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians as first place meets second place in Chicago this weekend. All MLB odds can be found by visiting Top Bet sportsbook.
The White Sox have been up and down all season and right now they are going through one of their hot streaks. While they are 7-3 in their last 10 they are actually a surprising 9-13 at home this season. They sit 3.5 games behind the Indians for first and they been led offensively by Paul Konerko who is having another solid season with the bat. Jose Quintana will make his first career start in game one tonight. His only other appearance on the season came in relief vs. the Indians and he gave up just one hit in 5+ innings of work.
We saw this last year from the Cleveland Indians. Will they be able to maintain their hot start going forward or will they fold again? Time will tell, but for now the Indians are a stellar 12-6 on the road which is obviously a mark that will put you in first place in most divisions. The hitting for the Indians has not be overwhelming, but it has been clutch. On the mound tonight for the Tribe will be Jeanmar Gomez who has been great in his last couple of starts. For the season he has been pretty good too as evident by his 3.19 ERA in 42 innings of work thus far.
Chicago is 6-1 in their last seven games overall, 7-13 in their last 20 home games, and 2-5 in their last seven home games against a right handed starter. Cleveland is 6-1 in their last seven game one of a series, 2-5 in their last seven road games against a left handed starter, and 10-3 in Gomez’s last 13 starts.
We really like what we saw from Quintana last time out and think that he will dominate the Indians again. Give us the White Sox as a moneyline wager in this one at best sports books.
