The Houston Astros and Miami Marlins will meet tonight at Minute Maid Park for game three of their set. All up to date odds for this game can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Houston Astros ended up pulling out the win on Tuesday coming from behind and showing the same fight they have all season long. The Astros offense was able to muster a hard earned 3 runs on seven huts during the win. Aneury Rodriguez was solid as the starter yesterday, but did not factor in the decision. Brett Myers continued to be a good story for the Astros as he completed the game for his 8th save of the season. Houston will send Lucas Harrell to the hill on Wednesday who has struggled all season, but is coming off of a win in his last outing. He in pitching to a 4.76 ERA in 34 innings pitched thus far this season.
The Miami Marlins were on a roll until yesterday when the Astros came back and beat them. Omar Infante and John Buck both homered for the Marlins yesterday to account for their only two runs. Anibal Sanchez pitched a solid 7 innings, but that was not enough to factor into the decision. Ryan Webb notched the loss in relief for the Marlins as he gave up the game winning hit. Josh Johnson will get the start for Miami today. Johnson looks like he is still trying to work himself back from last year’s injury. We say this because he is pitching to a 6.61 ERA in 31.1 innings of work thus far in the campaign.
Houston is 5-1 in their last six meetings against the N.L. East, 6-2 in their last eight games overall, and 1-4 in Harrell’s last five starts. Miami is 7-1 in their last eight road games, 4-1 against a team with a losing record, and 4-9 in Johnson’s last 13 road starts. Miami is 7-2 in the last 19 meetings of these two.
With the struggling arms on the hill today we like the over in this game at online sports books.
