The New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves will meet up on Monday for the start of a series from Atlanta’s Turner Field. Get your MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Yankees are coming off of a close win yesterday at the hands of the Mets and as a result completed the sweep of their cross-town rivals. Russell Martin blasted two home runs including a walk-off homer in the 9th to secure the win. Today the Yankees will start this series with Ivan Nova on the hill. The righty is 7-2 despite just pitching to a 5.09 ERA. He is however an impressive 4-0 on the road this season and will be looking to add to that tonight vs. the Braves. The Yankees lineup looks like it is heating up as the weather gets warmer which could be trouble for the rest of the league.
The Braves on the other hand nearly swept the Blue Jays this weekend, but ended up losing to them yesterday by a score of 12-4. They were up early 4-0, but faltered after a 6 run inning by the Jays in the 5th. The bats and the pitching were not overly impressive for the Braves, but they will look to get back on track at home tonight. On the mound, the Braves will counter with Randall Delgado. Delgado has been average this season posting a 4.26 ERA and will likely need some help from his offense to survive tonight.
We like the matchup of the Braves bats vs. Nova. Sooner or later Nova will start losing games pitching the way he does and tonight will be one of those nights. We like the Braves as a slight moneyline favorite in this one at online sports books.
