The Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox matchup in the battle for the Windy City. MLB odds are found at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Cubs are definitely struggling and have the worst record in the entire league to show for that. From here on out they will play the role of spoiler and that role will take on added significance as they play their crosstown rivals tonight. They lost their last game 7-3 which was their 8th loss in 11 games and they already have 44 losses on the season. Matt Garza will take the ball tonight for the Cubs and will be looking for his first win since April 29. And a span of seven starts since then he has gone 0-4 with three no decisions.
The White Sox had a great win on Saturday only to back it up with a disappointing loss to the Dodgers yesterday. The White Sox currently sit in first place and are just in front of the second-place Indians by a small margin. The White Sox will look to take advantage of a weak Cubs squad to increase their lead in the division. Tonight the White Sox will turn to Zach Stewart in order to get this series off to the proper start. This is Stewart’s first start in 2012 as he has appeared out of the bullpen and 17 relief appearances.
Garza definitely has the edge as far as the pitching matchup goes but as a whole the Cubs are just 3-9 in his last 12 starts. We do not expect much from Stewart, but expect the White Sox to pull out a win as a moneyline favorite with sportsbook betting.
