The San Francisco Giants and the Milwaukee Brewers meet for game two of their weekend playoff series. All MLB odds can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Giants were already having trouble scoring runs and the injuries they have suffered in the past couple of weeks have made it worse. In a loss on Friday night the Giants’ offense was led by Melky Cabrera who had two hits and drove in a run. The Giants scored 4 runs on nine hits in the loss. Tim Lincecum only allowed 2 hits and 3 runs over 5 innings, but that wasn’t good enough for him to earn the win. Clay Hensley had the loss in relief on Friday. This afternoon the Giants will send southpaw Madison Bumgarner to the mound and he has been the stopper for the Giants thus far this season. He has a 2.53ERA in 32 innings this season.
The Brewers are not as dominant as they were last year, but they are still playing well enough to be contenders in the division. The offense on Friday was led by Jonathan Lucroy and Aramis Ramirez who both drove in two runs en route to the win. Zack Greinke allowed 4 runs in five innings, but still managed to scratch out a no decision. Randy wolf will pitch today for the visitors and is struggling thus far pitching to a 6.84 ERA.
San Francisco is 2-7 in their last nine games against a team with a losing record, 19-9 in their last 28 games against a left handed starter, and 11-1 in Bumgarner’s last 12 home starts. Milwaukee is 3-5 in their last eight games against the N.L. West, 3-8 in their last 11 road games, and 2-5 in Wolf’s last seven starts against the N.L. West.
