The Oakland A’s continue their series at home today with the Detroit Tigers. Up to date odds for this game can be found at Just Bet sportsbook.
The Oakland A’s have split thus far in the series with the Tigers as they picked up a win last night. Josh Reddick led the A’s with 4 hits which included 2 home runs and Seth Smith also added 3 hits for the A’s as well. The pitcher for the A’s, Tommy Millone, allowed only 1 run in seven innings to warn his fifth win of the season. Today the A’s will send Brandon McCarthy to the mound who is much improved this season. He is pitching to a 2.96 ERA thus far.
The Tigers have been in at or around .500 all season after they came into the season with a lot of expectations. Miguel Cabrera led the Tigers with 2 hits yesterday, but that would not be enough. Rick Porcello took his third loss of the as he let up 4 runs over 5 innings of work. Doug Fister will make his second start of the season tonight for the Tigers and on the season in limited action he has only let up one earned run so far.
Oakland is 3-5 in their last eight home games against a right handed starter, 6-16 in their last 22 games as a home underdog, and 1-4 in McCarthy’s last five home starts. Detroit is 9-3 in their last 12 game three of a series, 3-7 in their last 10 Saturday games, and 10-1 in Fister’s last 11 starts.
We like the A’s in this one to win two in a row. As a bonus they will be a home underdog as well at the sports book.
