The Atlanta Braves will take on the Baltimore Orioles in game one of their weekend series from Atlanta. All MLB odds can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
The Braves have been a streaky team this year to say the least. Currently they are riding a four game losing streak after being swept by the Yankees this week. They are only 14-15 at home this season which is a big part as to why they now sit five games back in the division. The Braves hitting and pitching have both been average and they will be looking to take game one of the series behind righty Tommy Hanson was won his last two starts.
The Orioles, although they have fallen out of first place, are still very much in contention in their division. They are on a five-game winning streak and have a strong 18-12 road record and sit just a half game in back of the division leader. The Orioles have gotten stellar pitching from a rotation they came into the season much-maligned. Brian Matusz will get the start today for the O’s and will be looking to improve on his 4.82 ERA.
Atlanta is 4-1 in their last five games as a favorite, 0-4 in their last four interleague games, and 6-0 in Hanson’s last six starts against the A.L. East. Baltimore is 9-4 in their last 13 road games against a right handed starter, 3-7 in their last 10 road games, and 0-6 in Matusz’s last six interleague starts. Baltimore is 2-7 in their last nine games in Atlanta.
We like the Braves in this one although they are getting pretty steep odds at home as a favorite. We just like Hanson a lot more than the Orioles starting pitcher so before wagering read a sports book review.
