The New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners meet for game 2 of the weekend series at Yankee Stadium. All odds for all games can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Yankees are chasing the Rays and O’s in the AL East and did what they had to do to keep pace yesterday as they beat the Mariners. Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones both hit home runs to pace the offense for the Yanks. It was Robinson Cano though who sparked them with 4 hits of his own. Hiroki Kuroda earned his third win of the season only allowing 2 runs over 7 innings pitched. The struggling Phil Hughes will take the hill today for the Yankees and he has pitched to a 6.67 ERA so far this season and his days in the rotation might be numbered.
The Mariners were playing well coming into yesterday, but came up short in the first game of the series. Dustin Ackley and Jesus Montero both homered for the Mariners who scattered 7 hits as a team throughout the game. Felix Hernandez had a rare of night as he allowed 11 hits and 4 runs over 6.2 innings of work. Former Yankee Hector Noesi will get the start for the Mariners. He as struggled as well only amassing a 6.30 ERA this season thus far.
New York is 1-4 in their last five game two of a series, 6-2 in their last eight home games against a team with a losing record, and 7-3 in Hughes’ last 10 starts as a favorite. Seattle is 4-2 in their last six games overall, 13-39 as a road underdog. Seattle is 2-6 in the last eight meetings of these two.
We think this will be a high scoring game which gives the Yankees a distinct advantage. We’ll take the Yankees with the ML in this one so before wagering read a sports book review.
