The Atlanta Braves and the Arizona Diamondbacks will meet on Tuesday for the opening of a series in Atlanta. MLB odds can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The season for the Braves has been a whirlwind thus far with peaks and valleys throughout. They have currently lost the last two games and are four games back in the and NL east. It may be surprising that there also just 15 – 17 at home this season. Tonight they will look to veteran Tim Hudson to get this series off to a good start. He is the leader of the staff and has allowed 59 hits in 65 innings of work which is good enough for 3.88 ERA.
After a very slow start to the season the Diamondbacks are currently making their move in the NL West. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games and sit just 5.5 games back in the division. Their pitching has led the way in this resurgence and they will look to Daniel Hudson tonight to continue their solid play. Hudson has had rough outings two of his last three starts and overall has had a pretty rough season. In just 43 innings of work he is allowed 55 hits which is good for a plus 6.00 ERA.
Atlanta is 4-9 in their last 13 games, 21-7 in their last 28 against the N.L. West, and 5-2 in Hudson’s last seven starts. Arizona is 8-3 in their last 11 games following a win, 8-19 in their last 27 road games against a team with a winning record, and 4-1 in Hudson’s last five starts. Arizona is 1-6 in the last seven meetings of these two.
The Braves have a good history against the Diamondbacks. Couple that with the fact that they have a distinct advantage in the pitching department, and we like the Braves as a home moneyline favorite at sports books.
