The Miami Marlins and the Boston Red Sox will meet for the start of their series tonight from Fenway Park. All MLB odds can be found at BetOnline sportsbook.
The Red Sox are still in last place in the high competitive AL East and are just 14-19 at home this season and is a big reason why they sit 8 games back in the division. Outside of David Ortiz the offense has been inconsistent and the starting pitching has not been much better. Clay Buchholz, who is having a miserable season, will get the start tonight. He has won his last three starts, but has gotten significant run support in those games. He is pitching to a 5.38 ERA thus far this season in 80 innings of work.
The Marlins are going thru a bit of a tough stretch as they have gone just 2-8 in their last 10 games. They sit six games back in the NL East and are 16-15 on the road this season. Mark Buehrle, who is experiencing a little bit of a rough stretch, will get the start tonight for the Marlins. Overall he is pitching to a 3.41 ERA which is respectable, but he has lost his last three starts.
Boston is 4-1 in their last five games overall, 1-6 in their last seven home games, and 8-3 in Buchholz’s last 11 home starts. Miami is 4-1 in their last five games as a road underdog, 14-6 in their last 20 road games, and 2-11 in their last 13 games against the A.L. East. Miami is 2-6 in the last eight meetings of these two.
This is a tricky matchup to predict. We like Buehrle to get back on track vs. a lineup he is familiar with from his days in the AL. We like the Marlins as moneyline underdogs in this game at the sportsbook.
