The Detroit Tigers and the Colorado Rockies will meet on Sunday in the rubber game of their weekend series. All MLB odds can be found at BetOnline Sportsbook.
After losing on Friday the Tigers bounced back on Saturday to get a win and to tie the series. They were led by Miguel Cabrera who had two hits, one of which was a homerun. As a whole the Tigers scored four runs on seven hits and received a very good pitching performance out of starter Doug Fister who won his first game of the season. Max Scherzer will get the start in this game today and the righty is coming off of a win in four of his last five decisions.
The Rockies are having a tough season and were completely out played yesterday in the loss. They scored just once and only could scrape out six hits against the Tigers. On Sunday they will turn to Jeremy Guthrie for a chance to win the series. Guthrie has had a rough season, pitching to a 6.91 ERA in 56 innings of work thus far.
Detroit is 55-20 in their last 75 home games, 5-1 in their last six interleague games against a right handed starter, and 5-2 in Scherzer’s last seven starts. Colorado is 6-14 in their last 20 road games, 1-6 in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, and 1-4 in Guthrie’s last five starts. Colorado is 5-2 in the last seven meetings of these two.
While we like what Scherzer has done lately we can see this one being a very high-scoring affair. Because of this we like the over for total runs scored at the sportsbook.
