The Miami Marlins and the San Francisco Giants will meet for game 2 of their playoff series this afternoon. Get the MLB odds at Just Bet sportsbook.
The Marlins continue to lurk in the in the NL East standings and have been playing solid baseball for several weeks now. On Friday night the Marlins offense was led by home runs from the bats of Giancarlo Stanton and Chris Coghlan. Josh Johnson was OK on the mound pitching to a no decision in 5 innings of work. Mark Buehrle gets the start today for the Marlins and comes into this game having won his last three starts. The lefty has a 3.36 ERA on the season as well.
The Giants played hard till the end last night, but their comeback attempt fell a bit short. Melky Cabrera led the Giants offense with a home run and the Giants as a team actually had 14 hits in all. Madison Bumgarner will look to get the Giants back in the win column tonight and the lefty has come back to Earth after a very hot start. He has only allowed 52 hits in 60 innings and has a very low 2.85 ERA.
Miami is 9-2 in their last 11 games against the A.L. West, 17-7 in their last 24 games overall, and 4-0 in Buehrle’s last four starts. San Francisco is 5-2 in their last seven road games, 9-4 in their last 13 games against a left handed starter, and 1-4 in Bumgarner’s last five starts as an underdog. San Francisco is 6-2 in their last eight games in Miami.
We have a feeling that Buehrle will continue his hot pitching and that the Marlins will be able to get to Bumgarner enough to win the game at sportsbooks.
