The Nuggets are looking to get back on track as they prepare for the playoffs. In their last game they fell to the Clippers and overall have still won 4 of their last five games. They got off to a good start leading 34-22 after the first quarter, but eventually the Clippers woke up and ended up beating the Nuggets 104-98. The Nuggets were led on offense by Ty Lawson who scored 24 points for the game and 5 other players for the Nuggets scored in double figures as well. The defense for the Nuggets let up 14 three pointers to the Clippers which ended up being the difference in the game.
The Suns also played the Clippers in their last game, but actually won behind a 14 point and 14 rebound effort from center Marcin Gortat. Jared Dudley added 18 points, but the story of the game was the Suns’ defense that held the Clippers to just 35 points combined in the second and fourth quarters when it mattered most. The Suns now sit tied with the Jazz for the 8th playoff spot and are ahead of them just because of an edge in the tiebreaker.
Head to head, the Nuggets won both meetings this season, but the Suns are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Phoenix.
We did not really like either team in this game with the way the spread looks. We do however think that the defensive intensity will be ratcheted up some because both teams have a lot to play for. Give us the under in this game at best online sportsbooks.
