The Lakers come into tonights game suffering their 1st loss since March 7th in their last outing while the Rockets have lost two straight since the deadline. You can find lines for this game and all other NBA games by visiting Bovada sportsbook.
The two team were actually involved in a trade which sent Derek Fisher to the Rockets who reached a buyout deal with him yesterday.
Now the Rokcets are real thin at point guard because not only do they not have Fisher, but they are also without point guard Kyle Lowry who is out with a bacterial infection.
Since they have a lack of depth they have turned to Goran Dragic who has filled is admirably. This weekend he had two big games when he scored 11 and had 14 assists vs. the Clippers and followed that up on Sunday with a 16 point 8 assist outing. Not bad for Dragic especially considering it was a back to back games situation.
Since Lowry has been on the shelf Dragic is averaging 14.6 points and 9.4 assists per game in his last five games. Before that, with much less playing time, Dragic was just averaging a little over 8 points and 4 assists per game.
In the Rockets’ only game vs. the Lakers this season Dragic had an OK game, but only played 11 minutes in the contest. He scored 9 points on 4 of 5 shooting in the first meeting between the teams.
On a night where Kobe Bryant shot 3 for 20 from the field for only 15 points the Lakers lost their last game at the hands of the Utah Jazz on Sunday. His terrible shooting day also included a woeful 1-6 from three point line as well.
The strong inside play continued for the Lakers however on Sunday as Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol combined for a monstrous 51 points and 21 rebounds combined. They have been impressive in the last 5 games for the Lakers posting 42points and 24 rebounds per combined during that stretch.
Kobe will be looking to bounce back in a big way vs. the Rockets on Tuesday after having a monster game in his first outing this season vs. them. Bryant was 14-29 from the field for 37 points. Bynum also had a dominant game with 21 points and 22 rebounds as well so do not be surprised if they both dominate again. The Lakers are a commanding 10-2 in their last 12 vs. the Rockets.
The Lakers do play suspect defense away from the Staples Center giving up 97.3 points per game on the road. That is almost 10 more points per game than they give up at home. Although the Lakers have given up at least 100 in their last 4 road games their defense should be helped by the fact that Kevin Martin is doubtful for tonight with a shoulder injury.
Although the Lakers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 Tuesday games they are a staggering 8-17 ATS in their last 25 road games overall.
The over has been a commanding 8-2 in the Rockets’ last 10, while H-Town is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 overall.
Head-to-head the Over is 5-0 in the last five meetings and our pick is betting the over at online sportsbooks.
