A meeting of old rivals takes place tonight as the Phoenix Suns host the San Antonio Spurs tonight in Phoenix. Odds, lines, and spreads for all NBA matchups can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
The Spurs are again one of the leagues best teams and they showed off their team depth in particular in a 93-76 win in their last outing vs. the 76ers. Tim Duncan sat the third game of a back to back to back, but Dejuan Blair filled in admirably with 19 points in his place and Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points and 7 assists en route to a Spurs win. The Spurs are riding a four game winning streak and have reeled off seven of eight. This has all come in the midst of not being at full strength in term of players available. Duncan did not miss the last game because of injury and will be back in the lineup tonight.
The Suns come into this game on a little bit of a roll as well. They have won 6 of 8 games and their last two in a row. They dominated the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers 108-83. They were aided by a strong first half that saw the Suns jump out to a 59-38 lead at halftime and never look back. Steve Nash had 13 assists and Martin Gortat and Markieff Morris led the Suns in points with 22 each. The Suns have been strong at home recently scoring 103.1 points per game and compiling a 10-2 home record in their last 12.
The teams have played once this season which the Spurs won back on January 15th by a score of 102-91. Overall though the Spurs are just 3-9-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings and just 1-5 ATS in the last 6 at Phoenix.
Both of these teams are jockeying for playoff position, and we like the Suns at home in this one. The Spurs are coming of 3 games in a row and on the road to boot so they may be ripe for a subpar outing. The Suns are desperate for that statement win and we think they will get it tonight for the bet at online sportsbooks.
