In what will be a finals rematch the Dallas Mavericks travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat tonight. For odds, spreads, and totals you can count on Bovada sportsbook.
The defending champions Mavericks have been a bit up and down this season, but are coming off of back to back wins vs. the Houston Rockets so maybe things are starting to turn around. The Mavs beat the Rockets in overtime on March 24th, and in their most recent matchup on Tuesday the Mavericks erased a 16-point deficit in route to a 90-81 victory. Dirk Nowitzki led the team in shooting on Tuesday with 21 points, but had as subpar shooting day as he went just 5 of 17 from the field. The games deciding run was sparked by reserve guard Jason Terry who scored 7 points in less than a minute to spark the games deciding rally.
The Heat had been consistently winning all season until recently when they have dropped two straight. Coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, most expected the Heat to bounce back in their most recent game vs. the Pacers. They lost to the Pacers as well by a score of 105-90 making it two bad performances in a row. Dwayne Wade and LeBron James led the heat with 24 points each, but shot a low percentage from the field going just 16 of 37. While the Heat downplays their most recent losses, they continue to fall further and further behind the Bulls who now lead the conference by 4 games. The Heat has now dropped their last 4 of 8 overall as well.
The teams have only played once so far this season way back in the season opener and the Heat won that game 105-94. Of note however is the fact that the Mavericks are 13-3-1 ATS in the last 17 games in Miami.
We are expecting the Heat to find a way to win in this one, but are surprised at how high the line is. We expect both teams to be motivated and thus expect the Heat in a close game to come out on top. Feel comfortable taking the Mavs with the points in this one with a bet at the sportsbook.
