Most people we know had Kentucky winning it all in their bracket and they are probably happy to see the Wildcats one win away from the championship. Kentucky’s road to the final has included wins over Western Kentucky, Iowa State, Indiana, Baylor, and most recently in the National Semifinal the Wildcats defeated rival Louisville by a score of 69-61. UK has been thought to be the team with the most talent in the country all season long and they have not disappointed in the tournament thus far. Louisville did give Kentucky a good game, but in the end the stifling defense and clutch scoring of the Wildcats prevailed. UK shot 57% overall from the field and held the Cardinals to just 34% shooting for the game. Freshman phenom Anthony Davis led Kentucky with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Senior Darius Miller added 13 and Doron Lamb chipped in with 10 for the Wildcats.
Just like Kentucky, Kansas is always one of the pre-eminent programs in college basketball so while not much was expected of this group, it is hardly a surprise to see them in the championship game. Coach Bill Self has gotten everything out of this group of Jayhawks who are led by seniors Tyshawn Taylor and Thomas Robinson. Kansas comes into the game after beating Detroit, Purdue, North Carolina St., North Carolina and on Saturday they defeated Ohio St. in a hard fought 64-62 decision. They Jayhawks erased a 9 point halftime deficit in route to the win. Defense is what won it for the Jayhawks as they held OSU to just 24% shooting in the second half and won despite never really getting into an offensive rhythm themselves. Thomas Robinson led the Jayhawks with 19 points and 8 rebounds while fellow senior Tyshawn Taylor added 10 points and 9 assists in the triumph.
Kentucky is just way better in every facet of the game as we see it. To be honest we would even feel comfortable taking the Wildcats if the spread was a bit higher. Give us Kentucky laying the points and we will not look back. We fully we expect coach Calipari to win his first national championship and for UK to win its first since 1998 so prior to making the wager pick up sportsbook promo codes.
