The Gators ended the season on a bit of a down note overall, but still managed to finish in 2nd place in the SEC. They showed signs of turning it around when they advanced to the conference tourney semifinals where fell to Kentucky. After earning the at-large bid however the Gators have been a different team as they have won in blown out fashion over Virginia and Norfolk St. in their first 2 games of the NCAA Tournament. Both ends of the floor are absolutely firing right now for Florida which makes them a threat to the high seeded Golden Eagles. In the game vs. Norfolk St. the Gators hit 10-3 pointers as a team and held Norfolk St. to just 27% shooting for the game. Florida also had a well-balanced attack offensively led by Kenny Boynton who had 20 and Irving Walker’s 15 points.

Marquette is one of four Big East teams that are still left playing after the first weekend. The Golden Eagles had an easy time in round one vs., the BYU Cougars winning by 20 and fought off a pesky Murray St. team in their second game to advance to the Sweet 16. Although Marquette has been a great offensive team all year they relied on a stingy defense in their lat game vs. the Racers. They held Murray St. to just 31% shooting for the game which ended up being enough to win the game. They forced 16 turnovers and had a 13 rebound advantage over the small Murray St. squad. The two stars for the Golden Eagles, Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom, both had 17 points while Crowder also added 13 boards.

This will be the first significant test for both of these teams thus far in the tournament. These games are always tough to predict, but we like how Marquette has been relatively consistent with their play all season. We like the Big East squad in this one to bet at the sportsbook.
