The Thursday Night Football odds from this week six game have the home side Chicago Bears favored by -8 points with an over under line set at 47 ½ points. The Giants are going through a nightmare season. They are 0-5 against the spread as well this season. They opened up the season on the road and lost a shootout to the Dallas Cowboys 36-31 as a +3 ½ point underdog. At Carolina three week ago they get shutout 38-0. The following week at Kansas City it was the Chiefs with the 31-7 victory. After those back to back road losses the team returned home to face the Philadelphia Eagles and dropped a 36-21 decision as a +1 point underdog. The Giants offense has struggled on the ground as the team is rushing for 56 yards a game ranking 32nd and last in the NFL. The team also is 32nd and last in scoring defense by giving up 36 points a game. This forces quarterback Eli Manning to go too much work and get out of his comfort zone. Make no mistake Eli Manning earned Super Bowl rings because of a good running game and great defense. Now when Manning is asked to do more and carry this team he fails. For the season Manning is hitting on 53.7% of his throws with eight touchdowns and 12 picks. Even head coach Tom Coughlin early on said the team needed to run more. Problem is they are a bad running team and Manning’s inability to carry the team until the Giants can fix those problems is resulting in failed performances. The Bears return home after a road loss to Detroit and last week the Saints travel and win 26-18. The Bears are giving up 28 points a game and the Giants 36.4 points.
With our NFL pro football pick for Thursday Night Football we will play on the New York Giants and Chicago Bears to play over the total of 47 ½ points but first check the sports odds.
