The New York Knicks and the Miami Heat will meet from Madison Square Garden tonight. NBA odds can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
This game will be the season opener for the Knicks as their opening game was suspended due to the hurricane. Expectations are high in New York and we will just have to see if the next current roster can handle those lofty goals. They will rely heavily on Carmelo Anthony to lead them deep into the playoffs. Replacing Jeremy Lin at point guard this season will be the combo of Raymond Felton and Jason Kidd. Other than Jeremy Lin leaving a lot of the core from last year’s team remains in tact and this squad should be able to put up points and the success of their season will largely hinge on the teams commitment on the defensive end.
This will be the second game for the defending champion Miami Heat after they defeated the Celtics on Tuesday night at home. Although LeBron James left the game late with an injury he still led the heat with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 120 – 107 he victory. It was Dewayne Wade however stole the show scored 29 points against the Heat’s bitter rival.
On the injury front LeBron James is listed as probable so we think this means he will definitely play tonight. Amare Stoudemire is out for the Knicks for an extended period to start the season which we think will hurt them especially in tonight’s game. With all of that said given all that has happened in New York in the past week and the fact that the Knicks are at home we like the fact that they’re getting so many points in this game. We will take the next as point spread underdogs in this game at the sports books.
