As the season dwindles down, the top two teams in the Eastern Conference battle as the Knicks travel to Miami to take on the team with the best record in the NBA. Get NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
New York (46-26) is in a tie for second place in the East with the Indiana Pacers. Either way, it will be a tough playoff series for either team as the Bulls, the team who ended the Heat streak, are sitting in sixth and the dangerous Boston Celtics are in seventh in the East. The Knicks are putting together a nice streak of their own right, having won eight games in a row now. In that streak, the Knicks beat the Celtics twice, one at home and one away from Madison Square Garden. Three of the eight wins came on the road, which has typically been their major weakness this season at 19-16. Just before this eight game winning streak, the Knicks lost four in a row on their road trip out west.
The Heat (58-15) currently have the best record in the NBA and an 11 and a half game lead on second in the Eastern Conference. The Spurs are three games behind them for the best record in the league after the Heat’s late game steal in San Antonio. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers all sat out against the Spurs and the depleted Heat were still able to come home with the win thanks to Chris Bosh’s game winning three with less than five seconds left.
NY is 38-32-2 against the spread this season while the Heat are 39-34 ATS.
The Knicks are on a nice streak right now but I do not see them extending it to nine as the Heat are way too strong. They have won 29 out of their last 30 games at sportsbooks.
