The Knicks look to get out of the slump when they continue their road trip in the west in Portland. Get NBA odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Knicks (38-24) are playing out west while the Big East tournament is currently being played in their home of Madison Square Garden. Portland is the Knicks’ third of their five game road trip. The first two could not have gone worse for New York. The Warriors crushed the Knicks by 29 with NY scoring an abysmal 63 points. Carmelo Anthony’s return didn’t go smoothly either. New York started off extremely hot and is now really starting to cool down towards the latter part of the season. They are losing touch with Miami at the top of the East during their 20-game win streak. The Knicks are looking to get back on track against Portland and try to hold their third spot in the East.
The Blazers (29-34) have lost three out of their four games with the only coming against San Antonio, who owns the best record in the NBA. Portland sits 11th in the West at this point and this is the first meeting between the two teams this season. Portland has seen tremendous play from rookie Damian Lillard who is averaging 19 points per game.
NY is 30-29-2 ATS this season and 13-14-2 on the road. Portland is 29-32-2 ATS thus far and 16-13-2 at home. After a loss, Portland is 15-17-1 against the spread.
The Knicks have looked absolutely terrible on the road on the west coast in their last two games. When you have an elite scorer, in Carmelo Anthony, you always have a chance, which makes New York a little streaky and inconsistent. My pick to win the game would be Portland as they Knicks try to avoid losing their third game in a row but first read a sports book review.
