The Mets look to get back on track after dropping the first game to the Marlins in Miami. Get MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Mets (22-30) experienced a let down after the Yankees series in the first game of this new series. The Mets lost five games in a row and were 12 games under .500 with one game left on the schedule before the Rivalry Week series with the Yankees. The rest could not have gone better for the Metropolitans. New York won the last game of the series with the Atlanta Braves and then proceeded to win all four games against the Yankees, two at home and two in Yankee Stadium. Nobody expected that to happen to the Yankees and the Mets may have been a little shocked themselves, because they lost their next game to the lowly Marlins, 5-1. Shaun Marcum pitched and got the loss; he is now 0-6 on the year.
The Marlins (14-41) were doing the opposite thing as the Mets were entering this series. The Mets were winning and the Marlins were losing, and losing a lot. Miami was on a nine game losing streak before opening up this series with the Mets. Even more impressive, the Marlins were even more awful when it comes to their last 22, posting just a 3-19 record.
The Mets are just 20-32 against the spread while the Marlins are 27-28.
I can’t see the Marlins winning another game this series. They are just absolutely horrendous and the Mets should take care of them in the next two games at www.sportsbookroom.com.
