The Mets and the Cardinals begin a four game series in St. Louis on Monday. Check MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
New York (14-20) lost three games out of the four against the Pittsburgh Pirates and their last three games. The Mets only scored seven runs in those last three games and gave up 21. This is the worst stretch for the Mets besides the point in which they lost six games in a row. Not a single starter is hitting over .300; David Wright is leading the Mets with an average of .297 and 23 RBI’s. John Buck has 10 home runs and 29 RBI’s and leads the team in both statistics. Jeremy Hafner will be getting the nod for the Mets on Monday but Hafner is just 0-4 on the season in his six starts. Hafner appeared in seven games and the Mets have yet to win a game when Hafner pitches. That is probably not a good sign for New York.
The Cardinals (23-13) are in phenomenal form heading in to this series and have been 9-2 in their last 11 games. The Cards are leading the National League Central and lead it by two games over the Reds. St. Louis took two out of three from the Reds in the beginning of this month. Lance Lynn is 5-1 with an ERA of 2.72 in his seven starts.
The Mets are 13-21 against the spread but the Cardinals are a very solid 20-16 ATS.
Lynn is an obvious advantage over Hafner and that will be the difference. Cardinals win and to take St Louis Click Here.
