The New York Mets and Washington Nationals square off in New York for an NL East battle at Citi field. The Mets will throw Dillian Gee while the Nationals have yet to announce their starter. View updated MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Nats are currently in second place in the NL East, 5.5 games back of the Braves for first place. They are coming off a 6-4 victory over the Mets yesterday behind a decent start from Ross Detwiler. He last five innings giving up six hits and three earned runs, but Tyler Clippard got the victory. Clippard is now 6-1 in relief this season. Ian Desmond tallied his 14th home run of the season and Ryan Zimmerman drove in three runs. The fact the Nats have not announced their starter gives you some idea of how the pitching has been for them so far this year, as they have been well below par.
Dillion Gee enters tonight’s contest 5-7 with a 4.82 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. He is 4-3 in his last 10 starts but has won three of his last four decisions. In his last appearance in Philly he surrendered eight hits in five innings, giving up five earned runs in the process. In his last start at home he got the win over St. Louis tossing 6 2/3 innings giving up six hits and just one earned run. They are in fourth place and bring a 14-24 home record into tonight’s contest.
Take the under, neither of these teams can score and the Mets ballpark will keep the runs to a minimum at www.sportsbookroom.com.
