The Mets fresh off a walk-off loss face the Nationals as they look to rebound from losing 4 straight games. Check out the MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Washington Nationals failed to take advantage of most of their scoring opportunities on Tuesday but they took advantage of enough as they edged the Mets with a ninth inning comeback win. Ian Desmond had two hits, Steve Lombordozzi drove in the winning run, and Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth had hits as the Nationals scored three runs on seven hits. Tonight the Nationals start Dan Haren who has lost his last three decisions. For the season Haren has allowed 76 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 51 over 63.2 innings for a 4-6 record and a 5.09 ERA.
The New York Mets looked to be winners heading into the bottom of the ninth inning on Tuesday but they were unable to hold the lead and took the loss. On Tuesday Omar Quintanilla and Jordany Valdespin each had two hits as the Mets scored two runs on four hits. The Mets start Dillon Gee who has been improving over his last few starts. For the season Gee has allowed 73 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 49 over 57 innings for a 3-6 record and a 5.68 ERA.
The Mets are in tailspin mode and I expect that to continue tonight in the nations capital. Take the Nats in this one at best sports books.
