The Baltimore orioles and the New York Yankees will meet for game 4 of their ALDS series from Yankee Stadium on Thursday night. MLB odds are at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Orioles seem poised to take a 2-1 series lead, but saw those chances evaporate in the ninth inning last night after closer Jim Johnson let up a game-tying homerun to Raul Ibanez. Ibanez followed that homerun up with one in extra innings to give the Yankees a 2-1 series lead heading into tonight’s game 4. Although the Orioles have not officially named a starter yet popular thinking is it will be Joe Saunders. You can be sure of whoever gets the ball will have a very short leash, as the Orioles are in a win or go home situation.
The New York Yankees are now one win away from a trip to the ALCS thanks in large part to the performance last night by Raul Ibanez. Ibanez blasted two solo homeruns one to tie the game in the ninth and one of a walk off variety to win the game in extra innings. The Yankees also received a stellar pitching performance from Hiroki Kuroda who only allowed five hits through eight innings of work. The Yankees will give the ball to Phil Hughes tonight who tries to knock the Orioles out and end their season. Hughes has gone 2-2 versus the Orioles this season pitching average versus them this season.
