New York Yankees vs. New York Mets MLB Betting Pick

This is another series that puts two teams from the same city against each other during this Interleague Rivalry Week in baseball. The Mets will play the Yankees, with each team getting two home games. Check the MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.

The Mets (18-29) finally got themselves a victory after losing five straight games. New York lost three straight to the Reds at home and then were still at home when the charging Atlanta Braves came to town riding a six game winning streak. The Braves won the first to games to extend their streak and to add to the Mets’ streak but New York was able to win the final game to avoid the sweep as well. LaTroy Hawkins pitched one inning for the Mets and received the victory to go to 1-0 on the year. The Mets will start Jonathan Niese for the eleventh time this year. Niese is just 3-5 on the year.

The Yankees (30-19) have been shaky in their last 10 games, going just 5-5, which is not good enough for a team that sits 11 games above .500 and is not far from the best record in the Majors. Phil Hughes will start for New York, looking to get back on track after losing to the Rays. Hughes is 2-3 with an ERA of up over 5.50.

The Mets are an awful 17-30 against the spread and the Yanks are 28-21 ATS.

I like the Yankees in this game because, frankly, there is not much to like about the Mets this year besides Matt Harvey so take the Yanks at www.sportsbookroom.com.
