The Detroit Tigers and the Oakland Athletics meet for game three of their ALDS series tonight in Oakland. All odds for all games can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Tigers swept the first two games at home in this ALDS series and now are one win from advancing to the ALCS. In their last victory on Sunday they were led by potential MVP Miguel Cabrera who had three hits and the solid starting pitching of Doug Fister. Toeing the rubber in game three of this crucial series will beat Anibal Sanchez who has been lackluster since joining Detroit midseason via a trade with the Marlins. He did however have a quality last couple weeks of the season and will be looking to ride that momentum into tonight’s game. Since being traded to Detroit Sanchez has allowed 81 hits in 121 innings of work good enough for a 3.74 ERA.
After dropping the first two games in Detroit the Oakland Athletics have their backs against the wall and will need to sweep the remaining three games at home in order to advance. They lost game 2 on Sunday despite getting a solid effort from starting pitcher Tommy Millone who do not factor in a decision after six strong innings of work. On the hill tonight for the Athletics will be Brett Anderson who returned to the rotation after injury, but then was injured again in mid-September. This is his first start since being injured and for the season he has only pitched 35 innings and pitch to a 2.57 ERA.
Though Sanchez has pitched well lately we can still see this game being of the high-scoring variety. These pitchers are third in their respective rotations for a reason and we will take the over for total runs scored in this game at the sportsbook.
