Check out the college football odds from the bowl games at Bovada sportsbook.
The Sugar Bowl odds have the SEC entrant Alabama Crimson Tide favored by -17 points with an over under line of 52 ½ points. Those who play on Alabama on the money line will lay -750 odds with the return on Oklahoma at +550 odds on the money line.
The Oklahoma Sooners finished off the regular season at 10-2 in 2013. The team has changed its offensive philosophy after Landry Jones exited the program. Oklahoma fell to 101st in the nation in passing offense as the team throws for 186 yards per game. On the defensive side of the football the Sooners have improved greatly as the club is 14th in the nation in total defense as Oklahoma gives up just 336 yards per game. The Sooners defense both the run and pass very well as the team is 16th in passing defense and 27th in rush defense. In the final regular season game the Sooners limited Oklahoma St to 24 points as they pull off the upset in the Bedlam Rivalry game. The Oklahoma defense can match the speed of the Alabama offense. I expect the Crimson Tide to run between the tackles and attempt to possess the football and wear down that front seven of the Sooners by pounding the rock. Because Alabama recruits good speed in the secondary I don’t expect too many throws downfield by the Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl. Alabama has the fourth ranked defense in college football and with that ranking the Crimson Tide offense will go conservative in this game as they will lean on their offensive line to blow open holes in the second half. Alabama is 4th against the pass and 9th against the pass on defense.
With our college football pick for Thursday we will play on the Oklahoma Sooners and Alabama Crimson Tide to play under the total of 52 ½ points but get the best number by looking up the sports odds.
