In the second round of the Big 12 Tournament, Baylor will take on the 3-seed of Oklahoma State. Get college basketball odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Oklahoma State (23-7, 13-5) has put together a great season behind guards Markel Brown and Marcus Smart who are both averaging over 15 points per game. The Cowboys have closed finished out their conference schedule by winning 11 of the last 13 with the only losses at Iowa State, who is a terrific home team, and Kansas, a top-5 team in the country, in double-overtime. Big wins came at home to #9 Kansas State and a huge victory on the road at the aforementioned Kansas Jayhawks. Oklahoma State split their two meetings with Baylor with the home team winning each game. The Cowboys only won by two in overtime after losing to Baylor by 10 on the road.
The Baylor Bears (18-13, 9-9) do not have anyone as popular as a player on their women’s team but have given themselves an outside chance for the NCAA tournament. Baylor has been just 2-5 in their last seven games with the wins coming at home to Kansas and on the road at West Virginia. Baylor lost to Iowa State and Oklahoma twice this season and has maybe underachieved in some parts of the season.
Oklahoma State has been a good bet this season by going 15-12-2 ATS and 10-9-2 coming off a victory. In conference games they are just under .500 at 8-9-1. Baylor is 12-14 ATS but just 6-9 after wins. In the Big 12, Baylor is 8-10 ATS.
I feel like this game could go either. I love how Oklahoma State plays and they have shown they can beat pretty much anybody. They have struggled with Baylor, however, and I can see Baylor coming out super-motivated to work their way into a tournament team. In somewhat of an upset, Baylor would be my pick at the sports book.
