The NBA best pick of the day tonight comes from the game between the New York Knicks at Minnesota Timberwolves. The Knicks and Timberwolves will tip off from New York at 8PM Eastern Time and you can watch this game live over the NBA League Pass. With our NBA pick on Saturday we will play on the New York Knicks +6 ½ points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The current betting odds between New York and Minnesota come courtesy of BetOnline sportsbook.
The odds opened up in this NBA game with the home team Minnesota Timberwolves favored by -7 points with an over under of 192 points. In the early wagering we have seen Knick money come as the Timberwolves were bet down in most sportsbooks to -6 ½ point favorite. Top Bet online sportsbook currently has Minnesota favored by -5 ½ points. The total has steamed upward to 196 points. Betting the money line on Minnesota will return -245 odds. A wager on the money line on the New York Knicks will see a return of +225 odds.
The big talk in the NBA has been the play of New York Knick point guard Jeremy Lin as he has led the Knicks to a four game win streak. Lin has posted up 24 or more points over his past four games with an 8 assist per game average. Lin has good court vision and smarts as he looks to pass first but if he has a clear path to the basket he will take the ball to the hole. Both teams are in a back to back tonight but no player played beyond 39 minutes last night for New York. Offensively we have seen much more scoring output for the Knicks since Lin took over at the point. The team is more fluid on the court as Lin’s teammates are moving well without the ball which is making Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni’s system of sharing the basketball most effective. Lin has handled the pressure of leading the point well in New York as he has made the most of the opportunity and his humble nature will allow no letdowns in his effort on the court.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are an improved club this season. But they have a ways to go to become a well-rounded team. They need to play better defense as they allow 44.5% shooting to their opponents at home this season. They also have issues with ball security as the club is coming off a atrocious 28 turnover game last night in their 104-97 home defeat to the Dallas Mavericks. Nearly everyone contributed in this poor play last night poorly securing the basketball. I don’t believe anyone has an answer right now to stop Lin. I don’t expect Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman too neither because his strength has never been defensive game plans. Minnesota has climbed the depths of the cellar but are not capable yet of laying -6 ½ points on their home court and in a bad spot where they are playing their fourth game in five nights. Back the Knicks tonight at the window getting the generous points from the online sportsbooks
