The Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns square off from the Amway Center tonight. NBA odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
The Orlando Magic got off to a great start in the post Dwight Howard-era, defeating the visiting Denver Nuggets 102-89 on Friday night. Despite Hedo Turkoglu breaking a bone in this left hand (out for a month) in the season opener, the Magic held the Nuggets to 38% shooting and took a 58-37 lead into the major break and never looked back. Glen Davis led the way with a game high 29 points and 10 rebounds, while J.J. Redick came off the bench to score 21 of his own.
The Suns on the other hand couldn’t get a win in their opener against the Golden State Warriors, however they managed to take down the Detroit Pistons 92-89 in their next outing on Friday night. With the Steve Nash era official over in Phoenix, the Suns face the long and hard road of rebuilding from the ground up. While they have some nice pieces, it’s just not enough to compete in the Western Conference.
Both of these teams are clearly rebuilding. Teams in this mode usually play better at home than they do away. Because of this we will take the Magic to cover the minimal point spread at home at the online sportsbooks.
