The scorching hot Philadelphia Phillies take on the Houston Astros tonight for game 2 of their series. All odds for all games of this important series can be found at Top Bet sportsbook.
Philadelphia has had a strange season to say the least. The bad news is that the Phillies won’t be repeating as National League East champions because of a very poor first half. The good news is the team has gotten red hot with wins in nine of eleven following a 12-6 victory over Houston Friday. Back to the bad news; it might be too late. With the pitching coming around and the bats developing some consistency, we’ll have to watch this play out but every thing went well Friday. The Phillies look to a hot Kyle Kendrick to the bump tonight hoping he can continue his winning ways. Kendrick has gone 5-1 over his last six outings with a combined seven runs given up in this stretch.
Houston has been playing the role of spoiler soon after the first month of the season was in the books with neither the pitching or hitting being strong or consistent. The Astros have been playing .500 baseball over the past few weeks which for the Astros might be considered a hot streak. The Astros had some punch at the plate last night with nine hits with Matt Downs drilling a two run bomb with Justin Maxwell going solo. Dallas Keuchel will get the start Saturday looking for his second victoruy of 2012. Keuchel has gone 0-7 with three no decisions the last ten times out with the long ball and occasional wildness causing problems.
Although the Phillies have been bad on the road this season we will ride their hot streak and take them as a moneyline favorite with sportsbook betting.
