The Philadelphia Phillies face off against the Milwaukee Brewers in the second of a four game set. Cliff Lee will start for the Phillies while Alfredo Figaro will make his second start of the season for the Brewers. Find MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Phillies took the first game last night 5-1 behind 6 2/3 scoreless innings from Tyler Cloyd and a Delmon Young home run in the fifth inning. They have won five in a row and their last two road games. Cliff Lee takes the mound and he has been on a tear as of late, winning his last five decisions and going at least seven innings in each of them. His last start against these Brewers he surrendered seven hits and three runs, but struck out 11 in 7 2/3 innings. All the runs came in the 8th inning when Jonathon Lucroy had a three RBI triple. In his last 39 innings, Lee has given up a total of 6 runs. Even though he is the source of constant trade talk, he continues to deliver.
Milwaukee has now dropped two in a row and four out of their last five. They continue to be haunted by the negative media surrounding Ryan Braun and the Florida steroid reports. Braun was in the lineup yesterday and went 1-2 with two walks and scored a run. Alfredo Figaro is making his second start this season, but he has made appearances out of the bullpen this year. The right-hander owns a 3.67 ERA and hitters are hitting .267 against him this season.
The Phillies are riding high however I do not completely trust their offense even though they seem to be hitting consistently recently. I’m playing the total and going under 8 runs in this ballgame with Cliff Lee on the mound at online sportsbook usa.
