The Phillies and Twins close out their series tonight in Minnesota. Cliff Lee will start for Philadelphia and Kevin Correia gets the nod for the Twins. Check MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Phillies fell yesterday 4-3 in game two of the series. They turn to Lee who has won his last five decisions and carries a 5-2 record with a 2.89 ERA and 1.01 WHIP into tonight’s matchups. In his last start against the Brewers he received a no decision, throwing seven innings giving up eight hits and three earned runs while striking out nine. In his last two road starts however, he has given up 12 hits and four earned runs in 15 innings pitched. The Phillies are 15-19 on the road this season including a 5-8 mark away from Citizen’s Bank Park in their last 30. The team is 4-1 in Cliff Lee’s last five starts. The Phils currently stand seven games back in the NL East, good for third place.
Kevin Correia is 5-4 and has a 4.11 ERA this season to go with a 1.32 WHIP. In his last start against the Nationals in Washington, Correia went 6 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and three earned runs while striking out seven. He has not pitched at home since May 14th against the White Sox when he received a loss giving up four runs. The Twins are 14-14 at home overall and 6-6 in their last 30 days; 8-4 when Correia is on the mound. Minnesota is in fourth place 6.5 games back in the AL Central.
Both of these teams struggle to score at times. With an ace on the mound in Lee, I’ll play the total at under 7.5 runs and to do so Click Here.
