The Nationals took the first game of this series and look to take another against the Phillies in Washington. Check MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Phillies (23-25) have gotten themselves back near .500 after being five games below at one point during the year. They have been switching off between wins and losses in the last eight games or so but the wins do outnumber losses. Philadelphia is 7-3 in their last 10 games heading into the series with Washington and they were coming off two straight wins against the Marlins in Miami. The Phillies were beat up in the first game of the series but then were able to outscore Miami 10-3 in the final two games. The Phillies were beat in the first game by Washington 5-2 and Kyle Kendrick was given the loss.
Washington (25-23) have struggled lately and now are only a game ahead of the Phillies. The Nationals were five games above .500 before going just 4-8 in their last 12 games. That stretch included a four game losing streak in which the Nationals were unable to score more than four runs. Jordan Zimmerman continued his impressive start against the Phillies when he took the victory to improve to 8-2.
The Phillies have a 26-22 record against the spread. The Nationals are a poor 21-27 ATS.
Dan Haren and Jonathan Pettibone face off on the mound on Saturday and I will give the edge to Pettibone and the Phillies to even this series so pickup sportsbook promo codes.
