In one of the better matchups, the Braves look to win another home game against the Pirates. Find MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Pirates (35-23) have a great record thus far in the season but have not been great lately. They lost two of three against the Reds before the series with the Braves. In the opening game in Atlanta, the Pirates were beaten 7-2. A.J. Burnett was given the loss and is now 3-5 on the year. Pittsburgh managed nine hits but were only able to score twice. Neil Walker and Gaby Sanchez scored the runs. Sanchez also drove in a run while Clint Barmes added the other. Sanchez finished 2 for 4 and was the best player for Pittsburgh on the offensive end. Jeff Locke will start on Tuesday on the mound for the Pirates. Locke is 5-1 with an impressive ERA of 2.25.
The Braves (35-22) are having just about the same season as the Pirates but have been a little better lately. Atlanta is on a three game win streak after winning the first game against Pittsburgh. Kris Medlen went seven innings, gave up seven hits but only one run on Monday. Medlen was given the win to improve to just 2-6. The Braves hit three home runs.
These are two of the better teams against the spread in the league. The Pirates are 36-22 against the spread and the Braves are 32-25.
In a very good pitching matchup, I am going to go with the Braves again at the sports book.
