The Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants meet for the first of a three game set in Pittsburgh tonight. Tim Lincecum and Gerrit Cole are the scheduled starters respectively. Check out the MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Giants enter the game on a two game winning streak, however they are just 12-18 on the road. Lincecum enters the game with a 4-5 record and a 4.75 ERA and 1.39 WHIP. He has lost three out of his last four decisions, and has not had much success on the road this year. In his last two starts in Colorado and in Arizona, he’s given up 17 hits, five walks and 11 earned runs received losses in both those matchups. However in his last start against the Blue Jays he went seven strong giving up just three hits and an earned run, striking out six. As a team the Giants are 3-3 in their last six road starts and 5-5 in their last ten overall.
The Pirates, like San Francisco, had the day off yesterday and are coming off winning two out of three at Wrigley Field against the Cubs. They bring Gerrit Cole today who will be making his third career start. The 23 year old out of Newport Beach, California went four innings in his last start in Minnesota giving up five hits and an earned run while striking out four. He also through just four innings in his first career start in Baltimore giving up two runs on two hits. This will be his first appearance at PNC Park. The Pirates are 21-11 at home.
Lincecum has been terrible on the road, while the Pirates as a team have been great. I’ll side with the trends and to take Pittsburgh Click Here.
