The Grizzlies have now lost six of eight games on the heels of winning 11 of 13 earlier this season. They are most recently coming off of a loss to the Clippers in which they were down 33-17 after the first quarter and the Clippers never looked back in defeating the Grizzlies 101-85. The Lakers on the other hand won their second straight on Friday night to make it seven wins in their last nine games as they beat the Trail Blazers 103-96 at home.
Thus far, the Lakers have won both meetings between the two this season which included a 116-111 overtime game that was played less than two weeks ago in Memphis. Led by Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay the Grizz were up 17 at one point, but could not hold on for the win. The Lakers were sparked by a fourth quarter in which they outscored the Grizzlies 26-17 and were eventually able to pull away in overtime.
Head to head the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in Los Angeles, and the home team in this series is 7-3 ATS overall in the last 10 games. The Lakers are 904 ATS in their last 13 vs. a tea with a winning record, but just 1-4 ATS overall in their last 5 games at home. What may surprise you is that the Grizzlies are 22-4 ATS on the second day of back to back game which is a crazy stat. They are however 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall during this stretch where they have not played particularly well.
While the Grizzlies have been bad lately, from an ATS perspective the Lakers are back to being inconsistent at home with a 0-4 ATS record at home in their last 4 overall. They have been unimpressive lately at the Staples Center vs. teams that have less than average road records as well in Boston, Minnesota, Utah, and Portland. Not saying the Grizz will win outright, but we think they have a good shot at covering the point spread in this one so check online sportsbook reviews.
